Overview

Swan Towing is an authorised police holding yard and store impounded vehicles. Please read the below information regarding collection of your impounded vehicle. This information is also included with the letter and invoice that is posted to you in the mail. If you still have queries regarding the impoundment or collection of your vehicle you can contact the holding yard via email at holdingyard@swantowing.com.au or by telephone during normal business hours.

How to Collect My Vehicle?

There are a number of requirements that you must abide by when collecting an impounded vehicle.

The registered owner of the vehicle will need to attend any police station on the day of release to complete a release form. These are called “Application for release of a Motor Vehicle Impound Under Section 79, & 79A 80, 80B & 80CA” Please be advised that you generally cannot get your release form prior to the release date. Please contact your nearest police station if you have any problems with this.

This form must be completed properly and in full by an authorised person or we will be unable to release the car. You will need to take your registration papers and or transfer papers and drivers licence with you to confirm ownership.

If you are sending someone else to collect your vehicle, they must be nominated at the bottom of the release form and this section must be filled out whilst at the police station also. If this section is not filled out in full when attending our holding yard we will not be able to release the vehicle to that person.

This form will then need to be provided along with photo identification and payment to Swan Towing in order for us to be able to release the vehicle.

When to Collect My Vehicle?

Your vehicle will be ready to collect after the full impoundment period which may be either 28 days or 3 months depending on the offence.

Please contact our office 48 prior to the collection date to confirm payment method and collection.

If the due date falls on a weekend or public holiday your vehicle will be ready on the next business day. No additional storage costs will incur on your vehicle if this happens.

Payment Options

Payment must be made in full to Swan Towing before a vehicle can be released. Payment can be made by EFT (account details are on the invoice), cash, eftpos or credit card on the day of release. Please be advised fees are applied if paying by credit card.

Unable to collect on due date

If you are late or unable to collect your vehicle on the due date additional daily storage costs are accrued. If you are going to be late picking up your vehicle please contact our office to advise so we can advise of the price difference.
